Department of Domestic Trade and Commerce

The Department of Domestic Trade and Commerce (DTC) is responsible for stimulating growth of the commercial and trade sectors through the formulation of strategies and policy instruments that will enhance the competitiveness in the domestic commercial and trade sectors and facilitation of domestic trade relations.
The department was able to participate in the World exposition (Expo 2005 Aichi, Japan), and successfully participated in all major shows and trade fairs including the Zmbia International Trade Fair.

The department successfully launched the 'Buy Zambia Campaign' to promote the consumption of quality locally produced goods and services, and the implementation of the 9th European Development Fund (EDF) Project.

The department also successfully attended to consumer complaints, held countrywide consultants on the proposed amendments to the Trade Licensing Act and the streamlining of the import and export permits, to facilitate reduction in the cost of doing business for importers and exporters.
