Foreign Trade Department
The department has the mandate of stimulating the growth of Zambia’s export trade through the formulation of policies, strategies and facilitation of international trade relations. The department is responsible for the integration of Zambia’s trade sector into the regional and multilateral trading systems through carefully negotiated trade agreements.
Zambia–Angola Bilateral Trade Ministerial Meeting
The Zambia–Angola Bilateral Trade Ministerial Meeting was held on 14th April, 2022 in Luanda, Angola. During the Ministerial Meeting, Angola requested for the list of products to be revised in line with Article VI of the Agreement. There was no new proposed list from Zambia as the initial submitted list was considered comprehensive.
Zambia and Angola signed an addendum to operationalise the Bilateral Trade Agreement that was signed in 2016. Angola is yet to issue a statutory instrument to operationalise the Agreement as Zambia already issued SI 74 of 2018 to operationalise the Agreement.
